The 97th Engineers arrived at Valdez, Alaska on 29 April 1942 looking at two to three feet of snow. The 97th built the northern section of the Alaska Highway. Then Lt. Biddle arrived to the Highway in January 1943 and was assigned to Company B. He remained with this company until July 1943.
Education: four years high school. Civilian occupation: Electric Manufacturing Company and listed on his death certificate he was employed as a engineer at WPP Company.
His father was Harold Stuart Biddle, a yard master with Pacific RR. His mother was Jeannette Freeman. He married Leah Finan on 24 November 1942 in Fairfax, VA.
