African American, Company D, Alaska Highway. Born: 5 January 1916, Clarksdale, Coahoma County, Mississippi. Died: 25 December 1971, Lorain, Ohio, buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Ohio. He died of a heart attack at his home, 1028 Reid Ave., Lorain, Ohio. He lived in Lorain for 22 years.
Education: Grammar School. In the 1940 census he worked as a laborer at a Federal Cotton Compress plant. He married but later divorced. His family lived in Coahoma, Mississippi.
Enlisted:14 April 1941 at Camp Shelby, MS and discharged 22 November 1945. His father, a farmer, was Odell Eason (1889-1950) and his mother, a laborer on the farm, was Zellas Davidson Eason (1892-1972). His wife was Maggie L. McCauley.
He has two sisters, Mrs. Edna Eason Montgomery of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Ada Eason Anderson of Chicago, Illinois. Also a step sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Cole of Lorain, Ohio.
