African American Chaplain, Alaska Highway. Born: 20 June 1907, Appomattox, VA Died: 10 May, 2000, Toledo, OH. Buried at National Arlington Cemetery.
He married Beatrice Mable Clark (1916-1955) in 1937 and in June 1957 married his second wife Lee Hawkins.
He received his PhD at the University of Pittsburgh in the fall of 1959 and taught at Lynchburg Theological and Seminary College. He had BA degree from Virginia Seminary and College; MA from Oberlin College; STH and STM from Western Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh and MEd from University of Pittsburgh.
He is buried at National Arlington Cemetery. His military service dates were 1 October 1941 to 2 October 1967. He retired from the Army as a Lt. Colonel.
