Interview with Donna Blasor Bernhardt: Bernard was sent to Watson Lake in the Yukon to build a portable bakery. It was built of panels so it could be dismantled and assembled at another site. The purpose of the bakery was to provide bread for the regiment. He was later attached to a platoon on the Liard to construct five barrack buildings. His civilian occupation and education was journeyman carpenter and studies in architecture and engineering.
