Alaska Highway, Company A. Born: 25 July 1916, North Dakota. Died: 1 January 2000, North Dakota. Enlisted: 19 January 1942, L.A. California. The 1940 census lists him living with his brother, Carl Larson, working as a coal miner.
ANOTHER DEATH by Eddie Larson: “One of the worst things that happened while we were working the highway was when one of our cooks was killed. As I remember it, there were three gas stoves. The cook went and got a can of gas to start the stoves, the began filling them without shutting them off. There was an awful explosion and the cook came running out of the building on fire. One of our members hit him with his first to know him down and get the fire out, but he was too badly burned and died en route to the Hospital.” Pioneer Road by Donna Blasor-Bernhardt
