Born: 24 April 1915, PA. Died: 30 Sept 1984, FL. Buried at Barrancas National Cemetery, FL. Enlisted 12 June 1936 and released in 1 July 1965. Retired as a Colonel.
Education: West Point graduate, 1936 and MS engineering degree from MIT in 1939.
His wife was Dale Lorene Jacoby (1916-1983). His civilian occupation was Civil Engineer. He was one of the original cadre of officers assigned to the 93rd Engineer Battalion at Camp Livingston.
He assumed command of the 93rd Engineer Battalion on November 13, 1941 relieving Lt. Col. John F. Zajicek who had become ill. After Colonel Frank Johnson was assigned as the 93rd Regimental Commander, Jacoby, promoted to Major, became his Executive Officer. In July of 1942, he was assigned as the 2nd Battalion Commander and in December 1942, he was transferred to the Northwest Service Command.
